About Camp Strong4Life

At Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, our mission is to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow. Strong4Life is one of the many ways we deliver on that promise. Armed with a team of Children's doctors, therapists, nurses, registered dietitians and other wellness experts, Strong4Life has resources to help busy families raise healthy, safe, resilient kids.

We are now accepting applications for 2024 Camp Strong4Life.

Sunday, June 9, through Friday, June 14
Camp Twin Lakes Rutledge West Campus
Rutledge, Georgia

Camp Strong4Life is an exciting overnight camp where our Strong4Life healthy habits meet your favorite outdoor activities: archery, rock climbing and more! It's where campers feel an instant sense of belonging, discover their own strengths and make memories to last a lifetime.

At Strong4Life, we know that healthy habits are the key to feeling good, performing our best and being healthy inside and out. Our camp teaches kids and parents about the four Strong4Life healthy habits:

  • Eat smarter, drink water
  • Screens away, go play
  • Get rest to be your best
  • Emotions are real, express how you feel

The team works our Strong4Life healthy habit sessions into the camp experience and helps your child build skills and boost confidence. Your child will have lots of opportunities to try new things, including:

  • Cooking challenges and nutrition demonstrations
  • Creative ways to build resilience
  • A ‘Be Active Day’ full of fun games

Camp Strong4Life is specifically designed for kids 8 to 12 years old who are above a healthy weight (BMI greater than the 85th percentile). The camp programs provides kids and families a unique opportunity to help jump-start a healthier future through a traditional summer camp experience.

In addition to the online application, a licensed clinician must complete the mandatory medical and immunization form. Your clinician may fax the completed form to 404-785-3241, or you can upload the form directly into your application.

Acceptance to camp is on a first come, first-served basis, and campers cannot be accepted until their application is complete. Once completed, the camp staff may contact you with questions.

The Camp Strong4Life Program consists of a family orientation and camper week. All camper families are expected to attend all mandatory Camp Strong4Life components.

Family Orientation:

A few weeks prior to camper week, camp families are required to attend an orientation day at the Children’s Support Center in Brookhaven, Georgia. During this orientation, camp families will learn about the Strong4Life healthy habits and begin setting goals. Family participation is considered key to success for campers and the program.

Camper Week:

From Sunday, June 9, through Friday, June 14, campers will learn about the Strong4Life healthy habits and enjoy traditional overnight camp experiences, such as archery, rock climbing, swimming, sleeping in a group cabin and more! It’s where campers feel an instant sense of belonging, discover their own strengths, make memories to last a lifetime and try new things in a pressure-free environment.

Camp Strong4Life takes place at Camp Twin Lakes Rutledge West Campus in Rutledge, Georgia. The camp features 20 camper cabins, a lakeside amphitheater, fishing and boating dock, a state-of-the-art swimming pool with a waterslide, and 120 acres of farmland for gardening and farm education.

Thanks to generous donations and our partnership with Camp Twin Lakes, we are able to offer camp at the reduced cost of $350 per camper*. Note: No refunds will be given for missing any components of the Camp Strong4Life Program.

*Financial scholarships are available for those who qualify. Families may complete the financial aid form within the application.
