Strong4Life Provider Training
As part of Strong4Life, Children's physicians developed a program designed to help providers initiate conversations about BMI measurement, nutrition and physical activity behaviors with patients and families. This program teaches motivational interviewing skills and how to set attainable goals with families that will result in sustainable behavior change.
Our evidence-based training and toolkit offer providers a proactive framework for their patients to enable sustainable behavior changes that promote a healthy lifestyle. Recognizing that providers can be restricted by time limitations, the counseling techniques we've designed can easily be incorporated into short well child visits.
The two-hour training is free and includes a meal. Participants receive continuing medical education (CME) credit for their attendance.
