Why participate in the Fundamentals of Managing Pediatric Obesity Care Training?
This training is designed to help community clinicians understand their role in managing obesity as a chronic, relapsing, multifactorial disease; assess a patient and family’s readiness to engage in care; and conduct effective, compassionate conversations about weight health and focus on when and how to offer treatment options in a patient-centered way.
In addition to the training session, all participants will have the option to order resources at no cost (patient resources available in English and Spanish).
Who should take the training?
The training is designed for all pediatric clinicians in Georgia who see children and adolescents diagnosed with obesity.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Children’s designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 1.0 MOC part II point in the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
