About Strong4Life

At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, our mission is to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow. Strong4Life is one of the many ways we deliver on that promise. Armed with a team of Children’s doctors, therapists, nurses, registered dietitians and other wellness experts, Strong4Life has resources to help busy families raise healthy, safe, resilient kids.

Everything on Strong4Life.com is created by our team of experts with you, the parent, in mind. We want to share what we practice with our patients (and our loved ones) with the goal of making your family’s life a little easier, healthier, safer and less stressful.

Whether you want to improve the communication within your family, help your kids develop a healthy relationship with food, learn about different safety tips, or develop your kids’ emotional well-being, we are here for you.

In addition to the resources on Strong4Life.com, our team is actively developing, implementing and enhancing programs throughout the state of Georgia to reach more families with consistent messaging.

Strong4Life in schools
We are proud to have worked with more than 1,800 schools in Georgia providing training, resources and support to help promote healthy habits. It takes everyone at the schools working together—from the administration to the teachers, school nurses, coaches, counselors and school nutrition staff—to make a positive impact on students. That’s why Strong4Life offers the following to school communities:

Strong4Life in early care centers
How we feed kids matters as much as what we feed them. The Strong4Life Early Feeding in Early Care Program aims to help teachers, administrators and other staff follow early feeding best practices, including:

  • Supporting developmentally appropriate feeding skills and milestones.
  • Practicing responsive caregiving during meals, or “responsive feeding.”
  • Integrating mealtime with other domains of child development.

While the Early Care Program currently focuses on feeding, we are developing a pilot program to help early care staff promote emotional wellness and resilience.

Strong4Life in the doctor’s office
We work with pediatric practices throughout metro Atlanta to train clinicians and staff on early feeding, healthy habits and emotional wellness. In addition to training, participating practices receive materials to share with patient families, such as goal sheets, healthy habits handouts, early feeding tip sheets, resilience tips sheets, coping skills tip sheets, board books and journals.

Strong4Life Clinic
Created specifically for families struggling with health issues related to weight, the Strong4Life Clinic provides a warm and nurturing environment of specialized pediatric-trained team members, including a board-certified obesity medicine pediatrician, a dedicated pediatric psychologist as well as a staff of registered dietitians, exercise physiologists and other wellness experts. Offering both medical and surgical treatment options, our family-centered, motivational approach begins with complete medical assessments of obesity-related illnesses, nutrition, physical activity and mental health support needs.

Camp Strong4Life
Camp Strong4Life is an overnight summer camp for kids 8 to 12 years old that fills the week with fun, healthy activities. It’s where archery and rock climbing meet high-energy dance classes and cooking competitions. It’s where campers feel an instant sense of belonging, discover their own strengths and take away the Strong4Life healthy habits to last a lifetime.

We collaborate with organizations to develop grassroots efforts and solutions that are tailored to the needs of local communities. If you would like Strong4Life to attend or provide resources for your community event, submit an event request application. Once you've submitted an event request application, a member of the Strong4Life team will review your request and get back to you.
