Virtual Spring Follow-Up Visit Details and FAQs

Georgia elementary school students watching a Challenge virtual visit video in the gym

To support your school’s pledge to create a healthy school environment, the Strong4Life Challenge Team created a virtual video series to educate students, teachers and staff about the importance of practicing healthy habits to help build strong bodies and minds.

Each month, your school will receive a video highlighting a different healthy habit and a brain-break video led by our energetic Challenge Team.

Month Healthy Habits Focus
January Drink water. Water gives us energy, boosts our focus, improves our immune system, fuels our brain and so much more. Start the year off by encouraging more water consumption.
February Screens away, go play. Regular activity is important for our physical and mental health. It can strengthen our body (muscles, bones and even immune system), improve our sleep and sharpen our focus.
March Eat smarter. Fueling our bodies and brains with smart choices, like fruits and vegetables, gives us the energy we need to focus and explore and the nutrients we need to grow. As we celebrate National School Breakfast Week this month, encourage students to fuel up with school breakfast.
April Get rest to be your best. Give your body and brain a chance to recharge with rest. This can help boost energy, mood and even memory, especially important during testing season.
May Emotions are real, express how you feel. The ending of a school year can be an exciting time for some students and a difficult time for others. Support your students by helping them identify and express their feelings using healthy coping skills. By doing this you are helping your students build resilience: the ability to handle life's ups and downs.td>

Your school will receive a calendar invite for your scheduled virtual visit each month that will include a link to the healthy habit video. Prior to your visit, we encourage you to:

Remind teachers, staff, students and parents about the upcoming Strong4Life spring visit via email, calendar invites or bulletin boards. We’ve drafted suggested emails you can use to spread the word in the communication toolkit. Get the school excited about the upcoming event!

We are excited to join your school virtually. On the scheduled event date, here is what you can expect:

  • Share the healthy habit video. Play the short healthy habit video on the morning announcements, during specials or schedule a schoolwide viewing.
  • Encourage participation. Each video is designed to help students and staff learn about a certain healthy habit. Encourage students to share what they learned, how they might practice the highlighted healthy habit or what they might already do to practice the healthy habit.
  • Promote Strong4Life throughout the day. Encourage students to fill their water bottles with water, incorporate feelings check-ins and/or add more movement through the day.

How long is each video?

Each video is about 2 to 3 minutes long.

When will we receive the link to each video?

You will receive a calendar invite for your scheduled virtual visit date, with the video link included. A reminder email will be sent one week prior to your scheduled visit.
