Supporting Emotional Regulation in ECE Training

Children are dealing with more stress than ever before, and research continues to show the significant impact stress can have on their emotional wellness.

The mental health specialists at Strong4Life recognize that early childhood professionals play a crucial role in setting a lifelong foundation for emotional development and resilience. This training provides an overview of emotional regulation development in early childhood and explores ways grown-ups can support child regulation with proactive and in-the-moment co-regulation strategies, starting at birth. This virtual training is designed for Georgia early childhood professionals who provide care to children from birth to 5 years of age, including (but not limited to) early care center directors, assistant directors, teachers, and supportive staff.

The Strong4Life resilience training is designed to:

  • Define emotional regulation and explore its many benefits.
  • Build awareness of how we, as adult caregivers, influence children’s regulation development (i.e., our role).
  • Describe strategies that support children's emotional development through co-regulation.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be eligible to receive 1 Bright from the Start (BFTS) credit hour.

Continuing Education
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is an approved entity by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

This training has been approved for 1 hour of continuing education for early care and education professionals in Georgia, meeting Workforce Knowledge Competency 5.2. Certificates will be provided upon completion of the training and a post-training survey.
