Introducing the Strong4Life Challenge Program

Hello, [school name],

This year, our school was selected to participate in the Strong4Life Challenge Program from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This program is designed to help elementary schools in metro Atlanta create positive school environments by promoting healthy habits through interactive visits, resources and support.

Centered on whole-child wellness, the Challenge Program focuses on the four Strong4Life healthy habits:

  • Eat smarter, drink water
  • Screens away, go play
  • Get rest to be your best
  • Emotions are real, express how you feel

Our school will receive 1 schoolwide pep rally in the fall and 1 follow-up visit in the spring to educate students, teachers and staff about the importance of practicing healthy habits. As part of this program, we have pledged to promote healthy habits in our school.

In addition to the events, we will receive posters to display around the school, as well as reusable water bottles for all students, teachers and staff members. All staff have access to the online Challenge hub with resources to use in the classroom, share with parents or display around the school.

We are looking forward to a great year and helping to raise healthy, safe, resilient kids!

Strong4Life Challenge Program Kickoff Event

Hello, [school name],

We’re excited to kick off this school year with the launch of the Strong4Life Challenge Program from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta!

Our kickoff date is scheduled for [date]. On that day, we will play this short intro video on morning announcements introducing the program and the energetic Strong4Life Challenge Team. This video also includes a short brain-break activity for everyone to participate in. What a great way to start the day with a little movement to get the kids’ bodies and minds ready to focus and learn. We encourage you to participate with them, too!

Following the kickoff event, the Wellness Champions will begin displaying and distributing our posters and water bottles to all students. Please encourage your students to continue filling up their Strong4Life bottles with water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

Strong4Life Challenge Pep Rally

Strong4Life Challenge Fall Pep Rally

Hello, [school name],

Our Strong4Life Challenge Pep Rally is scheduled for [date] in the gym. All students and staff members will join the hourlong assembly, where the Challenge Team will teach us about the four healthy habits.

While the pep rally may alter the schedule of the day slightly, this high-energy event—full of music and dancing—will help teach students the importance of practicing healthy habits to help build strong bodies and minds. Thank you, in advance, for understanding.

We kindly ask all homeroom teachers to attend and stay for the duration of the event. There is a small section during the pep rally where the Challenge Team highlights the amazing job all teachers and staff (including the school nutrition team) do every day, and we don’t want you to miss it. Plus, we need you there as a safety precaution for your students and the Challenge Team.

For more details, please reach out to the Wellness Champions.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Strong4Life Challenge Spring Follow-Up Visits

Hello, [school name],

Our Strong4Life Challenge Spring Follow-Up visit is scheduled for [date].

As a friendly reminder, there is no assembly or pep rally associated with this visit. The Strong4Life Challenge Team wants to be mindful of educational time and will plan to join normal school activities while serving as positive role models and promoting the Strong4Life Healthy Habits.

The team will join morning announcements, physical education classes and the school nutrition team in the cafeteria to help prepare and serve lunch.

To prepare for this visit, we will play this short teaser video on the morning announcements to get the school excited about the return of the Challenge Team. Feel free to play it in your classrooms leading up to the visit date and ask questions about Strong4Life:

  • “Does anyone remember the four healthy habits?”
  • “What are some ways we can be active?”, etc.

We encourage you to take photos and share to our social media accounts. Don’t forget to tag Strong4Life with these social media handles:
